Tattersalls Success!

Tattersalls Success!

6th December 2011

Successfully tried and tested in Newmarket, Tattersalls' BASIS program is now being rolled out in County Meath with the first live running starting this month. The February sale catalogue will be the first to be produced from BASIS in Ireland, and there is great excitement as the new software is introduced.

"It will streamline some very time-consuming processes for us and help improve the service we are able to provide" said Tattersalls Ireland General Manager, Roger Casey. "And a brilliant end to the auction season, both here and at Tattersalls Newmarket, with the December sales results significantly up on the previous four years, was the perfect way to celebrate!"

BASIS is designed specifically to meet the business needs of the Tattersalls organisation. for For the Newmarket sales there is also an iPhone and iPad app as part of the system, complete with all the pedigree information plus updates and withdrawals. Sales results are immediately available as horses go through the ring, and the Make-an-Offer facility can also be accessed via the app. To download a copy, please visit: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tattersalls/id426962950

Sneak preview of Eclipse Mobile shown at BEVA Congress

9th September 2011

A select few managed to snatch a glimpse of a long-awaited Mobile version of the Eclipse practice management software. The system is being designed in particular for the iPad which provides a fantastic platform for accessing animal and client information anywhere (literally in the field!), and viewing medical images using the iPad Osirix HD app. Eclipse Mobile is being written using HTML5 web technology so it will be able to run on any modern smartphone or tablet computer.

The mobile version will offer accessing to all of the available animal history via 3G or Wi-Fi connections and, even when off-line, access will allow users to view the animal histories for all the patients they plan to be visiting that day.

Booking work while still on/just-off site, and the ability to provide clients with their bill at the end of a visit in many cases, potentially streamlining invoicing and improving both billing accuracy and practice cash flow. A very useful improvement in these 'interesting' economic times!

Congratulations to Jarda Kot?šovec, Eclipse's most excellent intern, who has just graduated from the University of West Bohemia, Plze?, with a Masters degree. Jarda's special field of study for his thesis was Pattern Recognition, with the chosen topic for his dissertation stemming from work carried out here at the Department of Opthalmology at Addenbrookes in Cambridge.
Jarda plans a short break but will be back soon at the end of a Skype connection to assist with OsiriX plug-in developments, as required, in the New Year.
